If your computer breaks down or you would like to upgrade, adding parts to your computer should be no problem. This is also true for a notebook computer but should be left to a professional. There are however some upgrades and repairs that you can accomplish yourself without to much trouble using genuine Dell parts or even generic replace parts. Then there are upgrades that will require only Dell notebook parts.
Lets consider some various conditions to decide if your notebook is beyond repair or if you can replace the defective Dell notebook parts and repair it.
Notebook Upgrades
By consulting your owners manual or going online you should be able to determine what parts can be upgraded or replaced in your laptop. Usually the hard drive as well as the memory can be upgraded. If you have the knowledge to handle the upgrades yourself you will save some money, otherwise it is best to let a professional do it.
Most hard drive manufactures will be compatible with your laptop although if your doing a memory upgrade or repair you should stick Dell notebook parts. You should be able to determine compatibility by going on line or checking your manual. It is not possible to upgrade your laptop screen. If you would like or need a larger screen then you will need to get a new laptop.
Dead notebook
